Lighting

Of all the parameters that can effect your yeild, lighting is the biggest contributor. We’ve chosen the kingled as it’s output is more than enough for our .6 x .6 grow tents. We’ve based this off of information gathered from two sources. The fluence science cannabis cultivation guide which recommends a PAR of 1000 for flowering crops. Bruce Bugbee, researcher at Utah State University states that cannabis can take up to 1200 par but will still grow well at levels as low as 700. You can check out the full video here.

The kingled also includes IR and UV diodes to provide a fuller spectrum. The bloom and veg switches come in handy and can be used to reduce power whilst still providing the best light for your plants.

Timer

Your timer is an important tool and the optimal light cycles for cannabis are well understood. Young plants in the vegetative state require a 18/6 light cycle. This means 18 hours of light and 6 hours of darkness. Provided you’re not growing an autoflower strain, you’ll need to transition to a 12/12 light cycle in order for your plant to produce bud. This is because cannabis is light sensitive and it’s only in these extended states of darkness that the flowering hormones are produced.

Tent

Grow tents are the indoor version of a greenhouse. They help us create the perfect environment for our cannabis plants and .

  • The reflective coating helps bounce light off the walls and deep into your canopy.
  • Tents are great in winter as they allow you to keep your plant warm during the extended night time hours.
  • Help to trap humidity and odors inside while preventing light from leaking in.
  • Provide a place to hang lighting and scrog netting
  • Keep bugs and pollen out!

Extraction Fans and Carbon Filter

Cannabis stinks! By design, the cannabis plant will ommit a strong odor as it ripens in flower. If you’re growing indoors having a carbon filter will help keep the odors down and the neighbors happy. Even if the filter isn’t important, the fan improves airflow and can regulate temperatures.
